Everything you need to know about downloading X and Twitter media in HD.
Is X Downloader completely free to use?
Yes, it is free to use without requiring an account. You do not need to create an account, purchase a subscription, or install third-party software or browser extensions.
How do I download Twitter videos to my iPhone or iPad camera roll?
On your iPhone, copy the post link from the X app. Open Safari, navigate to X Downloader, paste the link, and tap 'Download Video'. Safari will download the file to your configured download location in the Files app. To save it directly to your Photos app, open the downloaded file in Files, tap the Share icon, and select 'Save Video'.
Where are Twitter videos saved after downloading?
On Android, Windows, and macOS, downloaded files are placed in your browser's configured download location (commonly the system Downloads directory) unless your browser is configured to prompt for a custom destination.
Can I download Twitter videos in 1080p Full HD?
Yes. X Downloader retrieves all available video renditions provided by X's Content Delivery Network. If a 1080p Full HD rendition was generated by X for that post, you will see the 1080p option preserving the highest available stream bitrate.
How do I convert Twitter video to MP3 audio?
Select the 'MP3 Audio' tab above the input box, paste the tweet link, and click 'Extract MP3 Audio'. Our system extracts the audio track from the media and provides a direct 192 kbps target MP3 download using real FFmpeg transcoding.
Why does my download show 'Unable to fetch video' or link error?
This usually happens if the tweet is from a private or protected account, if the post was deleted, or if the URL format is incomplete. Ensure you copy the full status URL (e.g. https://x.com/username/status/1234567890) and that the tweet is publicly viewable without logging in.
Why is there no sound on downloaded Twitter GIFs?
GIF-style posts on X are commonly delivered as looping video media without an audio track, so a downloaded animation may be an MP4 file with no sound.
Does converting Twitter videos to MP3 lose audio quality?
Our pipeline uses FFmpeg to perform real MP3 transcoding targeting a 192 kbps bitrate from the source audio stream. As with all lossy encoding, conversion cannot restore audio fidelity missing from the original post.
Does X Downloader add a watermark to saved clips?
Never. All videos and audios downloaded through our service are completely free of watermarks, logos, or alterations. You receive the direct stream as delivered by the host CDN without overlaid branding.
Is it legal to download videos from X (Twitter)?
Personal offline archiving may be permissible depending on your local jurisdiction and the copyright status of the original work. Fair use depends on specific legal criteria. Please respect the rights of content creators and do not redistribute, monetize, or re-upload downloaded media without authorization.
Can I download videos from private Twitter accounts?
No. For privacy and security reasons, private tweets cannot be accessed by external tools. The tweet must be publicly viewable on X for our downloader to retrieve the media stream.
Can I download videos and photos from multi-tweet threads?
Yes! Use our dedicated Twitter Thread Downloader. Simply paste any link from the thread, and our tool discovers upstream connected posts by the same author, letting you save all videos and photos individually or as a single ZIP archive.
