Authentic High-Definition Video Archiving
Understand X's multi-bitrate video delivery and download authentic 1080p Full HD and 720p HD video renditions directly to your device.
Highest Source Bitrate
We query Twitter's adaptive streaming manifest to identify the highest bitrate master stream available for that post, up to 1080p Full HD at maximum original clarity.
Zero Re-Encoding Loss
Unlike services that compress videos to reduce server bandwidth, xDownloader streams the exact CDN video file directly without secondary transcoding.
Clear Quality Selection
Our interactive quality menu displays all available resolutions and containers, allowing you to choose between maximum quality (1080p) or a lighter data-saving option (480p/720p).
How Twitter Video Compression Actually Works
When a creator uploads a video to X, the platform processes the raw footage and encodes it into multiple adaptive bitrate tiers. For a standard 16:9 landscape clip, X typically produces:
- 1080p Full HD (1920x1080): Generated only if the uploader uploaded 1080p or 4K. Encoded at approximately 2,170 kbps.
- 720p HD (1280x720): The standard HD tier for modern smartphone recordings. Encoded at roughly 832 kbps.
- 480p & 360p SD: Compressed mobile tiers designed for fast loading on cellular connections.
Because xDownloader connects directly to these CDN renditions, you receive the maximum quality that the author originally provided to X. If an author recorded at 480p, no tool can genuinely turn it into 1080p without fake AI interpolation. We deliver real, truthful files.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is every video on X (Twitter) available in 1080p Full HD?
No. X only generates a 1080p stream if the original uploader provided a 1080p or higher resolution source file. If the original recording was uploaded in 720p or 480p, that remains the maximum quality available on X's CDN.
Does X Downloader artificially upscale low-resolution videos to HD?
No. We believe in strict product truthfulness. We do not use fake AI filters or synthetic pixel upscaling. We deliver the authentic, highest-bitrate stream provided by Twitter's servers.
How do I ensure I am downloading the best available video quality?
After our tool extracts the post, examine the Quality dropdown menu. The streams are automatically organized with the highest resolution and bitrate option preselected at the top.
Why does an HD video download take longer on mobile networks?
A 1080p video stream on X typically features a bitrate of 2,000 to 3,000 kbps, resulting in significantly larger file sizes (often 20 MB to 100+ MB for longer clips). Download speeds depend on your internet connection.
Are downloaded HD videos compatible with all media players?
Yes. All video variants are delivered in standard H.264 MP4 format with AAC stereo audio, ensuring universal hardware-accelerated playback on Apple iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS.
